a. Faculty Commissions and Coordinators

1. Curriculum and Accreditation Commission

Responsibilities:

  • To review course plans and align them across departments, and to ensure the conformity of the ECTS-TQF Course Information Forms for newly opened courses,
  • To prepare the necessary proposals for the Dean's Office regarding updates to undergraduate education and instruction,
  • To carry out work on the development of elective course pools coded MUH.

2. Quality Commission

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the coordination of target-based and performance-based activities in academic and administrative units,
  • To support the development of practices in line with the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle,
  • To monitor and report quality performance and improvement needs and to plan the necessary actions,
  • To prepare and administer student satisfaction surveys and report their results.

3. IYMEP Commission

Responsibilities:

  • To prepare the necessary protocols with corporate firms so that the practices can be carried out within the framework of the relevant directive, and to ensure that they are signed in accordance with the legislation,
  • To ensure that processes are defined and quality documents are prepared.

4. Faculty Common Courses Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the coordination of the mathematics, physics, statistics, information technologies, and occupational health and safety courses, the courses coded MUH, and the other courses designated by the Dean's Office that are taught within the Faculty,
  • To make updates to course syllabi where necessary,
  • To ensure that the examination timetable is aligned with the examinations of the departments within the Faculty.

5. TEKNOFEST Coordinatorship

Responsibilities:

  • To receive and review the applications of the competition teams within the Faculty by 17.00 on the second Thursday of November each year, and to decide on them on the first Monday of December,
  • To meet the needs and requests of the competitors, as far as possible, through the other units of the university,
  • To ensure that the limited budget for competition preparations is shared among the teams on a justified basis,
  • To provide support in finding donors, in accordance with the legislation, in order to meet the teams' in-kind and cash needs in their competition preparations.

b. Departmental Commissions and Coordinators

1. Curriculum and MÜDEK/MİAK/FEDEK Commission

Responsibilities:

  • To carry out the work relating to the organisation of departmental course plans and course information forms,
  • To verify the conformity of the ECTS-TQF Course Information Forms for changes to course plans and for newly opened courses, and to check the updates made to existing courses,
  • To carry out the accreditation work in the department and to prepare the reports required for application,
  • To brief the visiting accreditation committee, present the necessary documents and answer questions,
  • To ensure that surveys relating to accreditation are conducted, archived and evaluated,
  • To ensure that portfolios and course files are prepared and archived and that the necessary updates are made.

2. Internship Commission

Responsibilities:

  • To decide on the suitability of the institutions where students will do their internships,
  • To carry out the assessment of internships,
  • To announce the internship quotas allocated to the department by public or private institutions and organisations in Turkey and abroad, and to allocate them to students according to predetermined criteria,
  • To prepare a proposal for the Departmental Board in order to update the Departmental Internship Implementation Principles where necessary,
  • To carry out other internship procedures assigned by the head of department.

3. Course, Examination and Graduation Commission

4. Double Major, Minor, Inter-Programme Transfer and Adaptation Commission

Responsibilities:

  • To assess and decide on Double Major, Minor and Inter-Programme Transfer applications within the framework of the relevant legislation,
  • To assess the previous course exemption and adaptation procedures of students admitted to the department by horizontal/vertical transfer.

5. Horizontal Transfer and Summer School Commission

Responsibilities:

  • To assess horizontal transfer applications,
  • To assess the applications of students wishing to take summer school courses outside the University.

6. Quality Officer

Responsibilities:

  • To prepare, administer and report exit, graduate and employer surveys,
  • To support the development of practices in line with the PDCA cycle,
  • To contribute to the quality improvement work carried out in the department,
  • To assist in the regular reporting of processes and activities.

7. Erasmus Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • To inform students about exchange programmes,
  • To contribute to the integration into the department of students arriving through exchange programmes,
  • To carry out intra-university correspondence relating to exchange programmes.

8. Professional Experience Sharing and IYMEP Representative

Responsibilities:

  • To organise a seminar programme in each semester bringing students together with at least one sector representative or graduate,
  • To receive and assess IYMEP applications and to ensure placement with the relevant firms,
  • To follow up and complete students' processes at the firms,
  • To administer and report surveys to students and firms.
