Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

Welcome to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences!

We live in an increasingly complex world. Within this complexity, understanding people, society, culture and the relationships these elements establish with one another is more important than ever. Our Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences carries out its education and training activities in order to respond to this need.

Our Faculty appeals to young people interested in multifaceted fields such as people, society, culture, communication, visual arts and politics. In our departments, we aim to educate students as individuals who can read people and society from different perspectives; analyse cultural, historical and political phenomena; think critically; embrace the scientific method; and hold a values-based outlook. Our competent Turkish and international academic staff are ready to guide this process. We also encourage students who wish to benefit from the accumulated knowledge of different disciplines to take part in double major and minor programmes.

Our Faculty aims to educate its students not only to acquire a profession but also to become responsible, productive, conscious and sensitive members of society. We fully believe that you will play important roles in the future of our country, which is marching “From a Noble Past to a Bright Future!”. I wish you success in your studies and sincerely greet you all.
