The Department of Computer Engineering of the Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences was established to train engineers with a strong technical background and a well-developed sense of social responsibility who can meet today's rapidly changing and developing information technology needs. The department offers a balanced and comprehensive education in computer software, hardware and network structures, and also enables students to increase their interdisciplinary knowledge through courses such as Numerical Methods, Interdisciplinary Research and Application Design, Physics and English. In this way, students are educated as individuals competent to design and develop information systems by blending theory with practice.
After completing their undergraduate education, graduates of the department receive the title of "Computer Engineer" and can join working life as professionals specialized in areas such as software development, system analysis, IT centre management, database management, and computer networks and security. Graduates, who also have the opportunity to pursue an academic career, can contribute to research and teaching activities at universities. Our graduates can work in many different positions such as network designer, system programmer, application programmer, end-user support specialist, artificial intelligence specialist, game developer, mobile application developer, web developer, DevOps developer, information security specialist and data engineer, and can play active roles in various areas of the IT sector.
