

The Architecture Undergraduate Programme is a 240-ECTS programme with a duration of 4 academic years consisting of 8 semesters. As in the other undergraduate departments of our university, 1 ECTS in the Architecture undergraduate programme corresponds to a student workload of 30 (hours/semester). The language of instruction is Turkish.
Our department started its first classes in 2012 and gave its first graduates in 2016. In 2013, the Urban Studies and Management Master's Programmes (with and without thesis) and the Urbanism and Urban Transformation Doctoral Programme were established under the Department of Architecture, and graduate education was strengthened in 2016 with the opening of the Architecture Master's (with thesis) and Doctoral Programmes. With its rapidly developing and renewed academic education and infrastructure preparing many graduates for professional life, our department was established to train architects who are sensitive to scientific and professional developments in the field of Architecture, who can understand and interpret research and practice carried out on national and international platforms, and who can produce work in this field.

To be a continuously developing, recognized and pioneering department whose graduates are preferred, that educates innovative, inquisitive, participatory and responsible professionals equipped to lead the country's development and progress and respectful of professional ethics and human values, and dynamic academics who produce knowledge and research in the core field of architecture at national and international level and uphold ethical values, and that aims at high value-added work to raise the technological, socio-economic and cultural level of society using advanced education and research techniques in the field of technology.
Mission of the Department of Architecture
To educate virtuous, leading architects who can carry tradition into the future, have a creative, inquisitive and innovative way of thinking, have acquired knowledge and skills in theory, design and practice, can establish interdisciplinary cooperation, can adapt to the dynamics of the age and uphold ethical values; to prepare and implement curricula that develop in line with the current architectural environment; to produce academic work at national and international standards; and to create an academic environment that follows and supports developments in the field of architecture.

Career Opportunities:
Thanks to the internships, vocational training practices and part-time work opportunities offered during their undergraduate education, our students can start working primarily at the companies where they did their internships after graduation. In addition, construction companies and private architectural offices that meet the needs of the rapidly growing construction sector are among the organizations where our graduates can find jobs. Besides job opportunities in public institutions and municipalities, it is also possible to open a private architectural office individually or as a group. Encouraging and supporting entrepreneurship, our department guides students who want to open their own architectural offices or pursue an academic career.
