
ARTICLE 23 - (1) The Hafiz Scholarship is awarded to students who enrolled in the University's undergraduate programmes on a scholarship, discounted or fee-paying basis as a result of the central placement exam conducted by ÖSYM (excluding those placed through YKS Additional Placement and Additional Points, and those enrolled via DGS, DGS Additional Placement, YÖS or horizontal transfer) and who hold a Hafiz Certificate issued by the Presidency of Religious Affairs, as follows:
a) to those ranked in the top 35,000 in undergraduate programmes admitting students with the LANG score type,
b) to those ranked in the top 80,000 in undergraduate programmes admitting students with the VERBAL score type, and in the top 250,000 in Islamic Sciences undergraduate programmes,
c) to those ranked in the top 130,000 in undergraduate programmes admitting students with the EA and NUM score types,
are granted the scholarship throughout the maximum duration of study of the program in which they are placed.
(2) The Hafız Scholarship is applied for a maximum of one year for optional foreign language preparatory programs, a maximum of two years for compulsory foreign language preparatory programs, and a maximum of seven years for undergraduate programs, without exceeding the maximum duration of study of the relevant program.
(3) Students who enrol in the University's undergraduate programmes on a scholarship basis as a result of the central placement exam conducted by ÖSYM and who are entitled to the Hafiz Scholarship are granted a Support Scholarship for the maximum period of study of the programme.
(4) The Hafız Scholarship application must be submitted to the Directorate of Student Affairs, together with a scholarship application petition and its attachments, before the tuition fee is paid, during the registration dates announced for the initial YKS placement of the relevant year. The scholarship of students who do not apply within the specified period is applied starting from the following academic semester or year.
(5) Students who complete their memorization of the Qur'an while studying in any undergraduate program of the University and submit a Certificate of Hafız issued by the Presidency of Religious Affairs are granted a Support Scholarship upon request, provided they meet the conditions under this article.
(6) This scholarship, in the case of the student:
a) having a cumulative weighted grade point average that falls below 2.00 at the end of the academic year,
b) failing to renew registration for one semester in undergraduate programs, or for one quarter/level in preparatory programs,
c) Receiving a disciplinary penalty,
ç) Making an internal or external horizontal transfer,
d) having their ties with the University terminated,
shall be terminated and not reinstated.
(7) This scholarship may not be used by students who, while studying in any undergraduate program of the University, had their ties with the University terminated in the academic year preceding the academic year in which they were placed by ÖSYM, and who were subsequently placed by retaking the examination, nor by students who previously graduated with an undergraduate degree from any formal higher education institution.
(8) The tuition fees of students who meet the conditions under this article and are placed in discounted or fee-paying quotas are covered by the Founding Foundation. These students are treated as fully scholarshipped, and these scholarships are financed by the Founding Foundation.
