The double major program allows students who meet the application and admission requirements to enroll in two separate diploma programs at the University, take courses simultaneously, and obtain two separate diplomas.
The courses to be taken in the double major program consist of all courses in that program's curriculum, excluding the courses the student has already passed or been exempted from in the primary major program.
The total ECTS credits of the courses to be taken in the double major program, excluding the courses the student has already passed or been exempted from in the primary major program, must be at least 60 ECTS credits.
The double major program is carried out in cooperation with the relevant departments/programs. An academic advisor is assigned to each student by the relevant department/program chair to determine the courses to be taken in the double major program and the semesters in which they will be taken.
The academic advisor assigned in the double major program communicates with the students' academic advisors in the primary major program to guide the students.
The principles applied in the primary major program are valid for the double major program's education activities, curriculum changes, and similar matters.
In addition to the primary major program, a student may enroll in only one double major program and, at the same time, in a minor program different from the double major program.
A student may take, from the double major program together with the primary major program courses (including minor program courses, if any), at most 50 ECTS credits of courses in a semester. Repeated courses count toward the student's course load.
For a student who has earned the right to graduate from the primary major program but has not yet successfully completed the double major program, the study period is equal to the maximum study period specified in paragraph (c) of Article 44 of Law No. 2547, starting from the academic year in which the student enrolled in the double major program.
The number of students who may be admitted to double major programs is determined by the Senate, on a semester basis, upon the recommendation of the relevant unit boards, and shall not be less than 20% of the central placement quota for the relevant year of the programs to be double-majored, except for law, health, and engineering programs.
