About the Program

İstanbul Sabahattin Zaim University thrives to train business leaders that are up-to-date with international business structure and economic issues and we are keen to develop creative and innovative solutions. Our academic framework; therefore, highly values analitycal approaches and is science and technology driven. Throughout the Management Programme, we aim to provide our students with key managerial and executive capabilities and skills.
 
Our department have well-recognized, national and international, staff members who are professional academics with unique significant success records. Moreover, our students are encouraged to pursue internships in a spectrum of distinct and reputable institutions.
 
We are eager to train future businessmen and women with a global vision and advanced English communication skills. That, by return, encouraged a number of foreign students to participate to our program in the last few years. International academic exchange programmes such as Erasmus have been motivated and inspired for further educational activities so that they are fully prepared to be global business leaders.

The Bachelor’s Degree Program of the Management Department is a 240 ECTS credits program of 4 years composed of eight semesters, each with a 30 ECTS workload. One ECTS is equal to 30 hours of student workload per semester

Career Opportunities

There are lots of job opportunities for the graduates of the Department of Management both in public and private sectors. The graduates can set up and operate their own business or can work as top executives in different businesses or work as managers in different departments (production, operating, marketing, sales, purchasing, advertising, finance, human resources, public relations and research and development) of companies or work as specialists such as training specialists and managers, financial analysts, financial advisors, accountants, auditors, financial advisors in companies, banks, and other organizations.

 

Program Objectives & Goals

Objectives

  1. To educate and raise graduates who can add more to their knowledge and skills that they acquired in the field of management with a lifelong learning attitude by following the improvements and changes around them
  2. To train virtuous managers and professional businesspeople who uphold the values of our civilization, possess high ethical awareness, are oriented towards social benefit, have a strong sense of environmental and social responsibility, and demonstrate ethical leadership in their respective institutions.
  3. To develop human resources with the knowledge and skills to contribute to scientific advancement, who are proficient in research, problem-solving, and analysis. These individuals are capable of advancing their careers in academia through graduate-level studies and are qualified to become academic staff.
  4. To meet the expectations of the sector and employers by training human resources with a solid foundation in basic computer programs and data analysis tools commonly used in businesses. These individuals will be able to use technology effectively for both business and learning purposes.
  5. To train leaders who have developed strong leadership competencies, can effectively lead their teams, are inclined towards teamwork, and can manage interpersonal relationships and conflicts efficiently.

Degree and Level Awarded

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (IN ENGLISH) is a Bachelor's Degree Programme with 240 ECTS Credits meets the minimum level (cycle) requirements, in terms of ECTS Credits and level descriptors, of the first cycle degree qualifications of the Overarching Framework of European Qualifications Framework of HE(QF-EHEA) as well as the 6th levels of qualifications of the both the Turkish Qualifications Framework for HE (TYYÇ, NQF-HETR) and the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF-LLL) in terms of the later.

Students, upon successfully completing this study programme is awarded the qualification of BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (IN ENGLISH)

Admission Requirements

Admission of national students to the BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (IN ENGLISH) programme is allowed through the nationally centralised Student Selection Examination (YKS) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Centre (OSYM). Admission of foreign students to the programme can be done upon an evaluation of the application of students directiy to the university. For further and detailed information please visit General Admission Requirements and Registration Procedures in the menu items of the Information on the Institution.

Graduation Requirements

The degree is awarded to students who successfully completes a minimum of 240 ECTS from the course units of the programme with a  grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Procedures to recognise prior learning (RPL), including non-formal and informal learning, is in an early stage of development in Turkey and there is no a comprehensive and enabling legislative framework at the national level in place yet. However, within the institutional autonomy respected there are some implementations at the institutional level for allocating credits towards exemption from some programme requirements on the basis of RPL. This is particularly a wide spread exercise implemented in cases that students, having a certain level of knowledge, skills and competencies in relation to fields such as foreign languages and computer use, prior to admission to the university, are subjected to an examination and if they are found successful to a certain degree required by the programme they have been admitted to, they are exempted from the relevant course units of the course programme. RPL is also practiced for students who wish to transfer their studies to the equal or an upper levels at an another institution including those from abroad in the same or similar fields. In such cases, students, having received some course units in a previous programme they had studied and having been successful, may be  exempted from the same or similar course units of the programmes they are admitted to upon the approval the adaptation committees of the programmes.
