Course Objective

TTo understand how this happened in the War of Independence, the wartime political, social and economic as it is aimed to obtain information about Turkey. In addition, the Mudanya Armistice Agreement, the Treaty of Lausanne, the effects of the establishment of the new Republic will be emphasized. It is aimed to review the innovations in the political, social, economic, educational and legal fields of the Republican period.

Course Content

The War of Independence will be examined in general. The signing of the Treaty of Lausanne, social, political, cultural, economic and educational innovations, the principles of Ataturk, Atatürk Period Foreign Policy is included in the content of the course.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Estimate Atatürk’s Principles in historical perspective.
  2. Rewiev current developments by comparing them with the historical conditions.
  3. Become conscious about the basic qualifications of Turkish foreign policy.
  4. Appreciate the significance of Turkish Revolution.
  5. Gain an understanding of the recent Turkish history.
