Course Objective
Students are expected to be learn the following topics at the end of the semester:
1. Create a system life cycle of a system.
2. Learn System Analysis approach.
3. Learn System Flow Diagrams.
4. Learn decision making approaches.
5. Do SWOT Analysis.
6. Learn how to use MS Visio in system design.
7. Use data flow diagrams and create a data dictionary for a data.
Course Content
System Concepts, System Development Life Cycle, Classification of Systems, System Models (Conceptual and Schematic Models), Gantt Chart, Network Diagram, Decision Tree, Organization Chart, Process Flowchart, System Analysis and Stages, Introduction to Information Systems, Data Processing Systems, Management Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, Expert System, Data Flow Diagrams, Data Dictionary, System Flow Diagrams, SWOT Analysis, Decision Making, Introduction to MS Visio, Database Design and Management.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Understanding system and system concepts, learning system analysis approach
- To have a perspective on the role of systems analysis in engineering design
