Program Objectives & Goals
Objectives
- The Ph.D. in Architecture is designed not only to specialize in a specific subject, but also to take an academic career as an investigative cult. The doctoral candidate is supported in his field specialization, which he / she identifies within the scope of architectural discipline. The Doctoral Program in Architecture will give the doctor the ability to conduct independent research, to review the scientific events from a broad and deep perspective, and to identify the steps necessary to reach new syntheses. It is expected that the candidate who successfully completes the program will fulfill one of the qualifications of bringing innovation, developing a new scientific method, or applying a known method to a new field.
- Understanding of the interdisciplinary structure of architectural design concepts and students'' graduation from the program to produce theses based on original scientific researches in the field of architectural design, publishing thesis topics, comprehending research method and method of design related to design; to create an environment for the development of skills to perceive, comprehend and transform knowledge through a holistic approach and to build up the necessary knowledge; to understand, understand, reveal and interpret architectural phenomena and discourses related to real life experiences; to be able to solve problems arising from change, to share these analysis and appropriate solutions with practitioners and decision makers, to be aware of the interactive relationship between thought, theory and profession in architecture; establishing partnerships with the modellers, platforms, and applications that will empower and mediate this relationship, and to gain a critical perspective on architecture as a whole and to work on areas of dynamic development that can create a relationship between the field of expertise and the whole.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Formal and non-formal learning, including training existing accepted procedures, the development is still at the beginning stages in Turkey and comprehensive at the national level on this issue and there is also an adequate legal framework. However, within the framework of institutional autonomy, there are also a number of institutional level practices for the assignment of loans that allow exemption from certain program requirements based on RPL. In these studies, which are applied especially at a comprehensive level, students who have knowledge and skills in areas such as foreign language and computer use before entering the university are subjected to an exam and students who are successful at a certain level by the program they are accepted are considered exempt from the relevant parts of the curriculum. However, RPL is also applied to students, including abroad, who wish to transfer to another institution that is equal to or above their field of study. In such cases, students may be exempted from courses that are the same or similar to the courses they have taken and passed, based on the approval of the program's orientation board.
Similar admission procedures are used extensively at our university. Regulations regarding the general admission conditions regarding such applications are outlined in the relevant sections of our Education and Exam Regulations, Regulations and Regulations Regarding Graduate Programs and Undergraduate Transfer Students.
Employment Opportunities
It is aimed for the graduates of the program to work at higher levels by obtaining a doctorate degree in their field or to continue their academic professional life and education in their fields.
Access to Further Studies
Students who graduate from this program can continue their post-doctoral education.
