BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

About the Program

The Department of Business Administration at İZU focuses on training business professionals who analyze the current issues and structural characteristics of the business world and economic life, and develop innovative solutions. In this context, we provide education to our students to help them become individuals who embrace an analytical approach, possess scientific knowledge and information technology skills, and are capable of successfully managing key business functions across all sectors.

Although it is a relatively young department, it stands out with its experienced academic staff, consisting of scholars who have proven their success in academic fields and practitioners who have excelled in the business world.

The Department of Business Administration trains students with a global perspective. Additionally, through international exchange programs like Erasmus, our students benefit from the educational, social, and cultural advantages of international interaction.

The Business Administration Bachelor's Program is a 240 ECTS program, with a normal graduation duration of 8 semesters, which constitutes 4 academic years. As with other departments offering undergraduate education at our university, in the Business Administration Bachelor's Program, 1 ECTS corresponds to 30 hours of academic workload per semester.

Career Opportunities:
Graduates of the Department of Business Administration have numerous job opportunities both in the public and private sectors. Our graduates can work in management, human resources management, marketing, production, accounting, finance, and other positions in public and private organizations in the real and financial sectors. They can also establish their own businesses and become entrepreneurs. Additionally, it is possible for our graduates to pursue an academic career by continuing with graduate education. Since the language of instruction is English, our graduates can be employed in international firms as global citizens.

To equip the business world with professionals who can stay updated with the latest information in business administration, continuously enhance their professional skills, and communicate effectively with colleagues globally. These professionals are prepared to be employed as experts and managers in marketing, accounting, finance, human resources, and management departments in national, international, and global institutions. They have developed entrepreneurial skills and possess the knowledge and tools to establish their own businesses.
  2. To train virtuous managers and professional businesspeople who uphold the values of our civilization, possess high ethical awareness, are oriented towards social benefit, have a strong sense of environmental and social responsibility, and demonstrate ethical leadership in their respective institutions.
  3. To develop human resources with the knowledge and skills to contribute to scientific advancement, who are proficient in research, problem-solving, and analysis. These individuals are capable of advancing their careers in academia through graduate-level studies and are qualified to become academic staff.

Degree and Level Awarded

Business Administration is a Bachelor's Degree Programme with 240 ECTS Credits meets the minimum level (cycle) requirements, in terms of ECTS Credits and level descriptors, of the first cycle degree qualifications of the Overarching Framework of European Qualifications Framework of HE(QF-EHEA) as well as the 6th levels of qualifications of the both the Turkish Qualifications Framework for HE (TYYÇ, NQF-HETR) and the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF-LLL) in terms of the later.

Students, upon successfully completing this study programme is awarded the qualification of Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. 

 
Admission Requirements

Admission of national students to the Business Administration ( % 30 English) programme is allowed through the nationally centralised Student Selection Examination (ÖSS) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Centre (OSYM). Admission of foreign students to the programme can be done upon an evaluation of the application of students directiy to the university. For further and detailed information please visit General Admission Requirements and Registration Procedures in the menu items of the Information on the Institution.

Graduation Requirements

The degree is awarded to students who successfully completes a minimum of 240 ECTS from the course units of the programme with a  grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Procedures to recognise prior learning (RPL), including non-formal and informal learning, is in an early stage of development in Turkey and there is no a comprehensive and enabling legislative framework at the national level in place yet. However, within the institutional autonomy respected there are some implementations at the institutional level for allocating credits towards exemption from some programme requirements on the basis of RPL. This is particularly a wide spread exercise implemented in cases that students, having a certain level of knowledge, skills and competencies in relation to fields such as foreign languages and computer use, prior to admission to the university, are subjected to an examination and if they are found successful to a certain degree required by the programme they have been admitted to, they are exempted from the relevant course units of the course programme. RPL is also practiced for students who wish to transfer their studies to the equal or an upper levels at an another institution including those from abroad in the same or similar fields. In such cases, students, having received some course units in a previous programme they had studied and having been successful, may be  exempted from the same or similar course units of the programmes they are admitted to upon the approval the adaptation committees of the programmes.

Employment Opportunities

There are lots of job opportunities for the graduates of the Department of Management both in public and private sectors. The graduates can set up and operate their own business or can work as top executives in different businesses or work as managers in different departments (production, operating, marketing, sales, purchasing, advertising, finance, human resources, public relations and research and development) of companies or work as specialists such as training specialists and managers, financial analysts, financial advisors, accountants, auditors, financial advisors in companies, banks, and other organizations
