Course Objective
Security weaknesses in information and communication systems can lead to out-of-service or abuse of these systems, loss of life, large-scale economic damage, deterioration of public order and / or violation of national security. With this course, it is aimed to be able to understand the security weaknesses / threats existing in the information systems and to raise awareness about the measures to be taken against the cyber attack.
Course Content
Basic concepts of cyber security, Cyber warfare, Introduction to encryption, Network security; Firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Shutdown Systems, Operating System Security, Secure Software Development, Web Application Security, Penetration Testing, Malware Analysis.

- Gains knowledge about basic concepts, network components, management and security of computer networks.
- Explains the concepts and methods of symmetric encryption.
- Explains the concepts and methods of public key encryption.
- Summarizes the system security threat and detection methods.
