Having started teaching under the name Department of Elementary Education in the 2010-2011 academic year, the main aim of the Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Department of Basic Education is to train well-equipped teachers who will work in preschool institutions and primary schools and who embrace social and universal values, are constructive, creative, open to innovation, productive, have problem-solving skills, think flexibly and can respond to the needs of the age.
Our department has Preschool Teaching and Primary School Teaching programmes. Both programmes mainly include courses on subject knowledge and the teaching profession, and students are equipped with both theoretical and practical training. Graduates of these programmes work as teachers in preschool institutions and primary schools.
