About the Program
Clinical Psychology Master program is a program that can evaluate abnormal behavior in line with current scientific developments, be aware of this by internalizing its ethical responsibilities, keep itself up-to-date in line with social needs, pursue methodical knowledge, understand and apply research methods, gain theoretical and practical skills, It aims to train clinical psychology specialists equipped with the knowledge and skills at a high level. Beyond these, the graduates who have completed the clinical psychology master's program are expected to serve our country as experts who are beneficial to humanity and know how to take responsibility.
After the theoretical courses taken in the first year, psychotherapy practices carried out under supervision in the second year are carried out in the Psychological Interview Laboratory of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University in Halkalı Campus. Students who have completed the clinical psychology master's program have the opportunity to work as a psychologist in various state institutions and private sector.
It consists of ten courses (3 hours per week) and master's project work (Total 90 ECTS). The normal duration of this program is 2 semesters, the maximum duration is 3 semesters.

Degree and Level Awarded
Students who have successfully completed this program are eligible to receive a degree (Master of Arts) in clinical psychology.
Admission Requirements
-To be a psychology graduate,
Scientific Preparation Program is applied to the graduates of Guidance and Psychological Counseling. (Applications are not accepted except for these programs.)
-ALES exam scores are not required.
-Undergraduate graduation GPA is at least 2.70 out of 4 or at least 70.00 out of 100
Candidates who score at least 50 points in the Science Assessment Exam are taken to the interview exam. The candidate must get at least 70 points as a result of the General Evaluation.
-The courses of this program are given at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Halkalı campus. In case of sufficient number of applications, courses can also be given at Altunizade campus.
Graduation Requirements
It consists of thirty hours of ten courses and master's project work (Total 120 ECTS). The normal duration of completing this program is 2 semesters and the maximum duration is 3 semesters.
A student who has successfully completed overdraft courses and a semester project and has a weighted GPA of 2.50 and above is awarded a master's degree without a dissertation.
Recognition of Prior Learning
- Psychology undergraduate graduates
- Scientific Preparation Program is applied to the graduates of Guidance and Psychological Counseling.
- (Applications are not accepted except for Psychology undergraduate and Guidance and Psychological Counseling undergraduate programs.)
- The undergraduate graduation grade point average must be at least 2.70 out of 4 or at least 70.00 out of 100
Employment Opportunities
The target of the department is to graduate psychologists who can provide proper support for the changing needs of the society on time. Graduates from our department will be eagered to start their own business while, with the support of the University, opportunies like part-time jobs and internships will also be provided so as to be available for our graduates to take positions in organizational work settings.
Access to Further Studies
According to the regulation published in the Official Gazette dated February 6, 2013 and numbered 28551, those enrolled in the Non-Thesis Master's program as of this date will not be able to apply to Doctorate programs.
