By giving students an interdisciplinary perspective, the Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Psychology Undergraduate Programme aims to ensure that they gain knowledge in the different sub-fields of psychology and master its basic theoretical approaches and research methods. Addressing mental processes and behaviour at the individual and group level, the science of psychology offers a wide range of research areas such as the central nervous system, human development, socio-cultural interaction and psychopathology. The programme is structured to support students in entering academic and professional life with solid scientific competence.
The department's priority is to train psychologists who are sensitive to social needs and have a strong sense of individual and social responsibility. Through the theoretical knowledge and practical work they gain during their undergraduate education, students can determine their professional orientation and develop skills for various fields of work. In addition to being encouraged to start their own businesses, graduates can make a strong start to their careers by gaining professional experience in corporate businesses thanks to the internship and part-time work opportunities offered by the university.
