1. In order to apply for an inter-programme transfer, a student must meet the following requirements;
a) The student must have studied for at least one semester in the undergraduate programme in which they are enrolled, excluding the foreign language preparatory class,
b) The student must have taken all the courses up to the relevant semester in the eight-semester curriculum of the undergraduate programme to which they wish to transfer and must have passed the common courses,
c) The student's weighted grade point average must be at least 2.50 out of 4.00,
ç) The student must not have received any disciplinary penalty other than a reprimand.
2. In order for a student to apply for an inter-programme transfer, the central placement score they obtained in the score type valid for the undergraduate programme to which they wish to transfer, in the year they took the central placement examination, must not be lower than the lowest base score of the equivalent undergraduate programmes at universities in Turkey (excluding the undergraduate programmes of universities in the TRNC). (The success ranking of the placement score without additional points is taken into account.) As students are admitted to the Music Teaching undergraduate programme nationwide solely through a special aptitude examination and the lowest national score requirement therefore cannot be verified, no inter-programme transfer application can be made to this programme.
3. Inter-programme transfers may only be made to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th semesters.
4. Students applying for an inter-programme transfer to undergraduate programmes that admit students through a Special Aptitude Examination must, in addition to the other requirements, also pass the aptitude examination held by the University.
5. Students may make an inter-programme transfer only once, (students who have previously made an inter-programme transfer within our University are not entitled to make another inter-programme transfer) however, such students may return in subsequent application periods to the programme in which they enrolled as a result of the ÖSYS central placement, provided that they meet the application and admission requirements.
6. Inter-programme transfer applications are made online via the Campus Information System on the dates announced in the academic calendar.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

1. A student wishing to make a lateral transfer to programmes such as Law, Engineering, Architecture or Teaching, for which a success ranking requirement is stipulated in the YKS Guide, must have a YKS success ranking in the relevant score type equal to or higher than the minimum success ranking required by YÖK for the relevant year.
2. In order for a student admitted to the University through the DGS to apply for an inter-programme transfer, the undergraduate programme to which they wish to transfer must be listed among the "Undergraduate Programmes Available for Vertical Transfer by Associate Degree Graduation Field" published by ÖSYM in the year they took the examination.
3. If the central placement score of a student wishing to make an inter-institutional or intra-institutional lateral transfer to the University's undergraduate programmes, obtained in the year they enrolled in their previous undergraduate programme, is equal to or higher than the base score of the scholarship or discounted version of the undergraduate programme to which they wish to transfer at the University in the same year; the student is placed, with the relevant scholarship/discount rate, in the scholarship or discounted programme corresponding to the ÖSYM score of the undergraduate programme to which they wish to transfer for the relevant year.
a) The scholarships and discounts granted to a student making a lateral transfer are valid for the maximum period of study of the undergraduate programme in which the student is enrolled.
b) When calculating the periods of study and scholarship entitlement of a student making an inter-institutional or intra-institutional lateral transfer to an equivalent programme, the periods the student spent in their previous programme are included in these calculations.
c) The periods of study and scholarship entitlement of a student making an inter-institutional or intra-institutional lateral transfer to a different programme are recalculated by deducting the year to which the student is placed from the maximum period of study of the new programme to which the student has been admitted.
4. Students making an intra-institutional lateral transfer at the University may not benefit from the other scholarships and discounts specific to their previous programme (Academic Achievement Scholarship, Preference Scholarship, etc.) apart from the support scholarship and the sibling, spouse and staff scholarships.

  1. Applications are assessed by a commission appointed by the relevant Dean's Office and are decided upon by the Faculty Executive Board.

  2. Applications are assessed by including in the calculation the candidates' weighted grade point average, their performance in common courses, if any, and 40% of their ÖSYS/YKS score in the relevant score type for the year in which they enrolled at the University. In the calculations made for the lateral transfer applications of students admitted through the DGS, the YKS base score for the relevant year at the university from which the student's undergraduate programme was entered through the DGS is used.

  3. When calculating the overall achievement score, the weighted grade point averages of all candidates are converted on the basis of our University's “Equivalents of Grades in the 4-Point System in the 100-Point System” table.

  4. If the number of applications exceeds the quota, starting with the candidate with the highest overall achievement score, as many principal candidates and as many reserve candidates as the quota allows are determined and announced.

  5. If candidates have equal overall achievement scores, priority is given to the candidate with the higher ÖSYS/YKS score.

  1. Students who qualify for enrolment through an Inter-Programme Transfer must apply to the Student Affairs Department on the “Enrolment Dates” determined by the Senate, in person or through a representative appointed by a notarised power of attorney, together with the wet-signed Inter-Programme Transfer Enrolment Petition and the documents required for enrolment.

  2. If there are principal students who do not enrol on the announced “Enrolment Dates” for the Inter-Programme Transfer, reserve students must apply to the Student Affairs Department on the “Reserve Student Enrolment Dates” determined by the Senate, in person or through a representative appointed by a notarised power of attorney, together with the wet-signed Inter-Programme Transfer Enrolment Petition and the documents required for enrolment.

  3. Candidates who fail to submit the Inter-Programme Transfer Enrolment Petition and the documents required for enrolment in full to the Student Affairs Department on the announced enrolment dates are deemed to have waived their right to enrol through the Inter-Programme Transfer and may not claim any rights.

  4. The University is entitled to take the necessary legal action against candidates who enrol on the basis of false statements.

A student who has previously studied at any higher education institution whose equivalence is recognised by the Council of Higher Education may request exemption for the courses they took and passed at that institution by applying to the secretariat of the relevant faculty/department with the Course Exemption Petition obtained from the Campus Information System, together with certified copies of their transcript, course contents and eight-semester curriculum.

Students must submit their exemption request within five working days at the latest from the date on which they enrolled through an inter-programme lateral transfer. Exemption requests submitted at a later date, or requests for the cancellation of exemption/adaptation procedures already carried out, will not be accepted. The student's exemption request is assessed by the adaptation commission to be formed by the relevant dean's office/directorate and is decided upon by the relevant executive board, which carries out the adaptation.

For students who have previously studied at any higher education institution whose equivalence is recognised by the Council of Higher Education, the weighted grade point average and degree of achievement are calculated on the basis of the courses for which exemption is granted together with the courses taken at the University.

  • Students who have previously successfully completed the foreign language preparatory class of any university submit their exemption requests to the Foreign Languages Coordinatorship within the university registration period, together with a petition and a document showing that they successfully completed the foreign language preparatory class. (Exemption requests submitted at a later date, or requests for the cancellation of exemption/course adjustment procedures already carried out, are not accepted.)
  • Students who obtain a score equivalent to level B2 in national or international exams that measure all four language skills and are recognized as equivalent by ÖSYM submit the originals of these documents to the Foreign Languages Coordinatorship within the registration period.
