Please read carefully the headings below, which appear on our website, regarding the application.
The following measures, flexibilities and practices have been introduced in order to minimise the impact on Erasmus+ projects of the earthquake disaster that occurred on 6 February 2023 and affected 11 provinces and 1 district of our country (the provinces of Adana, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye, Şanlıurfa and Elazığ, together with the Gürün district of Sivas):
1) Scope of the flexibilities and practices concerning the earthquake disaster:
1.1 Students whose families, relatives or close relations reside, or who themselves reside, in the 11 provinces and 1 district listed above, but who are enrolled at higher education institutions holding an ECHE in other provinces.
1.2 Staff whose families, relatives or close relations reside in the 11 provinces and 1 district listed above, but who themselves work at higher education institutions holding an ECHE in other provinces.
1.3 Students enrolled at, and staff employed by, higher education institutions holding an ECHE located in the 11 provinces and 1 district listed above
1.4 Students and staff selected to carry out their activity in our country under the KA103/KA131 project
1.5 These provisions shall apply to the 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 project periods.
5) Status of students and staff covered by 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 who have applied or will apply for mobility
5.1 Students whose first- and second-degree relatives, or who themselves, reside in the 11 provinces and 1 district listed above but who are enrolled at higher education institutions holding an ECHE in other provinces are given priority with +10 points in their applications for Erasmus+ student mobility.
5.2 Staff whose first- and second-degree relatives reside in the 11 provinces and 1 district listed above but who themselves work at higher education institutions holding an ECHE in other provinces shall be assessed in the disadvantaged category and given priority in Erasmus staff mobility applications.
5.3 Students enrolled at higher education institutions holding an ECHE in the 11 provinces and 1 district listed above whose first-degree relatives receive disaster victim assistance from AFAD shall be granted additional grant support (disadvantage grant) if they are selected for Erasmus+ student mobility with a grant. If the university's mobility budget permits, additional grant support may also be provided to students whose mobility is ongoing.
5.4 Students who themselves or whose first-degree relatives reside in the 11 provinces and 1 district listed above but who are enrolled at higher education institutions holding an ECHE in other provinces, and whose first-degree relatives receive disaster victim assistance from AFAD, shall be granted additional grant support (disadvantage grant) if they are selected for Erasmus+ student mobility with a grant. If the university's mobility budget permits, additional grant support may also be provided to students whose mobility is ongoing.

Applications must be submitted via the Erasmus application portal at https://turnaportal.ua.gov.tr/ by logging in with e-Devlet and selecting the relevant announcement for which our university has issued a call.
Applications will be accepted online only. No documents will be submitted to the Erasmus Office in person. Applications of students who do not upload an electronically signed transcript obtained through the Campus Information System will be rejected.

Documents Required for Application
- If applicants hold documents certifying that they are a relative of a martyr or veteran, have a disability, are covered by a protection, care or shelter decision under Social Services Law No. 2828, are earthquake victims, are participants with fewer opportunities, or are students with disabilities, these documents must be uploaded to the online application system. (The originals of these documents must later be submitted to the Erasmus Institutional Coordination Office.)
- During the application, the student must upload an Electronically Signed transcript showing their cumulative grade point average, obtained from the Directorate of Student Affairs through the Campus Information System (KBS).
- If a language proficiency certificate is available, the relevant exam result document must be uploaded.
- Students who intend to take the Erasmus Language Proficiency Exam must indicate this in the system by selecting the option “I would like to take the University Erasmus Language Proficiency Exam”.
- Students who wish to apply with a B2 preparatory school completion grade must upload a transcript showing their B2 preparatory school completion score to the system.
- Students who have previously taken the Erasmus Language Proficiency Exam must apply with an Individual Exam Result document obtained from our Foreign Languages Coordination Office.
Points to Consider When Applying
- 1- Please contact the Erasmus Institutional Coordinatorship regarding any problems that may arise during the application process. (For enquiries, please send an e-mail to erasmus@izu.edu.tr.)

- If a Language Exam Result document is available, the exam result documents must be uploaded to the system. (Assessments will be made taking into account the 5-year validity requirement for YDS and YÖKDİL certificates. The validity period of other exam proficiency certificates is 2 years. When uploading the relevant language certificates to the system, they must be uploaded so that the verification codes are visible. Candidates without a language exam certificate must select the option "I would like to take the Erasmus+ Language Proficiency Exam."
- Students who wish to apply with their IZU Preparatory School completion grade or IZU Preparatory School Exemption Exam result must correctly enter their "B2" level grade in the system and upload a recently dated, electronically signed transcript showing the grade at "B2" level. A "C1" Preparatory School completion grade cannot be accepted.

- 2-An electronically signed transcript with a current date must be requested via the Campus Information System and uploaded to the application system as a PDF.
- 3- Once the application period has closed, no changes may be made to the three University preferences submitted, except in cases of force majeure. Your placement will be determined according to your preferences, subject to quotas and the availability of the host institution.
- 4-If you also apply for Summer Term Traineeship mobility within the same application period, you must indicate in the application system, at the time of application, which mobility type you wish the -10 point deduction to be applied to in the event that you are selected for both mobility types.
- 5- The withdrawal period for students selected as principal candidates is 28 March – 5 April 2024. Students who do not exercise their right to withdraw within these dates and withdraw at a later date will have 10 points deducted in the next application period. Students wishing to withdraw must come to the Erasmus Institutional Coordinatorship between 28 March and 5 April 2024 and withdraw by submitting a petition.
Selection Criteria
The evaluation criteria and weighted scores used in assessing mobility applications are as follows:

*Second-degree relatives: the spouse's mother and father, and one's own or one's spouse's grandfather, grandmother, grandchildren and siblings
*Priority is given to combat veterans and their spouses and children, as well as the spouses and children of war martyrs; the spouses and children of "public officials who, while performing their duties at home or abroad, or even after their status has ended, have been wounded, disabled, died or been killed as a result of acts of terrorism because of the performance of those duties" pursuant to Article 21 of the Anti-Terror Law No. 3713 dated 12/4/1991; and, pursuant to Article 7 of Decree Law No. 667 dated 23 July 2016, the spouses and children of those who lost their lives as a result of the coup attempt and terrorist act carried out on 15 July 2016 and the acts that followed it, as well as civilians who were disabled and their spouses and children, when they apply for Erasmus+ student mobility.
**For prioritisation, the student must present a letter from the Ministry of Family and Social Policies stating that a protection, care or shelter decision has been taken in respect of them under Law No. 2828.
***The application of "-10 points" for previous participation does not apply to mobilities carried out at a previous study cycle or to mobilities other than higher education student/traineeship mobility. It applies where a student who has already carried out a mobility applies again within the same study cycle.
