Panel on Domestic and National Transformation in Industry
On Thursday 6 December, Ümit ÜNAL, Provincial Director of Science, Industry and Technology of Istanbul and an architect, together with Prof. Dr. İbrahim ÖZKOL, member of the ASELSAN Board of Directors, shared their experiences with students at the Panel on Domestic and National Production in Industry. We heard about the economic importance of domestic production, the work being carried out in this field and the story of how ASELSAN was founded.
International Students' Internship Experience
On Wednesday 28 November, at the event titled "International Students' Internship Experience and Introduction to the OIC INTERN Internship Programme", which we organised jointly with the International Student Club, students shared their internship experiences and the OIC Intern internship programme was introduced. The programme continued in a question-and-answer format.
Horizon Tour
Our guest at the Horizon Tour programme held on 6 November was Ufuk Coşkun, CEO of SitePlus. Coşkun spoke about his experiences in dozens of different fields throughout his entrepreneurial and professional journey and answered questions from the students. Surprise gifts were presented to the students at the end of the event.
With HR Leaders 1
Our guest at the HR Leaders - 1 programme held on 25 October was Bahattin Aydın, Deputy General Manager of Human Resources at Yıldız Holding. Aydın offered our students advice on entrepreneurship, self-development and the finer points of professional life. Noting that the new professions emerging with Industry 4.0 will replace the old ones and that we must keep pace with the times, Aydın also spoke to our students about the importance of the first steps taken into working life.
Language Education Abroad Conference 1
At the Language Education Abroad Programme held on Monday 22 October, affordable and straightforward ways of going abroad as a university student were discussed. The Work & Travel, Youth Change, Erasmus and Erasmus+ programmes were introduced. At the end of the event, six people won the chance to go abroad in a prize draw, one within the scope of an EU Project and two with accommodation included.
Career Opportunities at Okyanus
On Wednesday 17 October 2018, in order to contribute to the professional development of final-year students and to guide them on their career journey, Erdem Üzam, HR Director of Okyanus Colleges, informed our prospective teacher students about career opportunities at Okyanus. The programme continued in a question-and-answer format and concluded with a photo session with the participants and the presentation of various gifts to our guests.
Internship Experience 1
On 4 October 2018, our students received advice from fellow students who had successfully completed internships at seven different private-sector companies. İZÜ students had the opportunity to ask questions about the period before and during an internship and about securing a permanent position afterwards.
Public Sector and Academic Careers
Our event "Exam Tips for Public Sector and Academic Careers", held on 18 April 2018 together with the Hür Medeniyet Club, attracted a large audience. Dozens of gifts were presented to İZÜ students by Pegem Akademi through a Kahoot quiz and a prize draw.
Sharing Experience
On 18 April 2018, Mustafa Büyükabacı, Deputy Chairman of the İZÜ Board of Trustees, met with our İZÜ Industrial Engineering students, his future colleagues, as part of the "Sharing Experience" event.
Gamelab
We would like to thank Gamelab İstanbul for their presentation on Mobile Game Engine Software on 3 April 2018 and for the internship opportunities they offer our students.
Fuzul
On 14 February 2018, our students met the Fuzul Group HR team and heard first-hand about job and internship opportunities at Fuzul. The event continued with questions and answers about interest-free finance, a new model for Türkiye.
Study Abroad Programme
On 6-7 February 2018, with the participation of Alper Karayama, Yusuf Kavak and İsmail Fenerci, everything our students wanted to know about internship programmes abroad, Work and Travel and Work and Holiday was shared with them.
Cyber Security
The Certified Cyber Security Training Programme, jointly organised by the İZÜ Career Centre and the Internship School, provided training on many topics such as "Information Security and Cyber Security Concepts", "Basic Linux", "Basic Networking" and "Security in Wireless Networks". Certificates were presented to the participating students at the end of the programme.
Job Club
At the Certified Training Seminars with the Job Club, held between 28 November 2017 and 13 December 2017 with the participation of Cihat Yanmış, Leader of the Beyoğlu Job Club, training was provided on many topics such as "Career Planning", "Job Search Skills", "Career and Personality Tests" and "Questions Asked During Job Interviews". Certificates were presented to the participating students at the end of the programme.
Case Study Analysis
At our Case Study Analysis competition held on Thursday 7 December 2018, students were given a real case and asked to analyse and present it within a set period of time. Following the presentations, the jury evaluated the entries and awarded scores. Surprise gifts were presented to the winning students and certificates of attendance were given to all students who took part in the training.
Communication Mastery Summit
At the Communication Mastery Summit held on 21-22 November 2017, training was provided on topics such as Types of Communication, the Art of Understanding People, Three-Dimensional Communication and Stage Presentation Skills. Certificates were presented to the participating students at the end of the programme.
The Art of Pastry
On 17 April 2017 we hosted Pasta Sanatı and Merhaba Patisserie. At the event, which attracted particular interest from our Food Engineering students, there were informal discussions on the latest developments in the sector and on food safety.
Education and Life in Canada
At the seminar held on 10 April 2017 with the participation of Türkan İbiş from the Canadian Cultural Centre, students wishing to continue their education in Canada were informed about educational opportunities and living conditions in the country.
CV Writing Workshop 2
At the 2nd CV Writing Workshop held on 6 April 2017, our students met Zafer Çavdar, Deputy General Manager of Global HR at Turkcell. During the event, a two-hour presentation was given to our students on the finer points of CV writing and the different types of a good CV.
Interview Simulation 2
On 29 March 2017, our students experienced a true-to-life interview with the Albaraka Türk HR team. Following the simulation, the participating students were given feedback on what they should and should not do during an interview.
Interview Simulation 1
The first interview simulation was held on 14 March 2017 with Dr. Yasin Öztürk, HR Director of Türk Telekom AssisTT. Having conducted nearly 1,000 interviews, Dr. Yasin Öztürk shared his professional experience with our students.
CV Writing Workshop 1
On 8 March 2017, Elif Kunter from SecretCV shared the key points of CV writing with our students and reviewed their CVs.
A Career in the IT Sector
At the seminar held on 27 December 2016 we hosted computer engineer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şadi Evren Şeker. Sharing his experience of the past, present and future of the IT sector, Şeker offered invaluable advice, particularly to Computer Engineering and Software Engineering students. Our guest, who also filmed an educational video with our students for his YouTube channel, attracted a great deal of interest.
Effective Online Reputation Management
On 20 December 2016, at a time when everything is becoming digital and the Internet of Things is widely discussed, we brought HR Manager Bahattin Aydın and Employer Brand Consultant Meryem Adak together with our students at İZÜ as part of the seminar on Effective Online Reputation Management and Interview Techniques.

The ".COM Seminar" held on 25 November 2016 with the participation of Türkiye's leading start-ups, which awakened an entrepreneurial spirit in many of our students, was well worth seeing. The event, which took on the atmosphere of an informal conversation thanks to our guests' candid accounts, attracted a great deal of interest from every department.
Communication Mastery Summit
We hosted the Dönüşüm Konağı team at the training held on 17-18 November 2016. Certificates of attendance were presented to the students who took part in the programme.
Branding and Exporting to 85 Countries
The event on "Branding and Exporting to 85 Countries", held on 27 October 2016 with the participation of Kervan Gıda, attracted strong interest from all departments, and from the Food Engineering department in particular.
