About the Program
It consists of ten courses (3 hours per week) and master's project work (Total 90 ECTS). The normal duration of this program is 2 semesters, the maximum duration is 3 semesters.
Program Objectives & Goals
Objectives
- Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling, within the scope of the basic principles of graduate education, aims to develop new theories, techniques and concepts, to follow new and current studies, to contribute to the field and to develop scientific thinking skills and to improve and enrich the perspectives. In order to realize this principle, a program which includes Psychological Counseling Theories, Group and Individual Psychological Counseling Principles and Practices, Scientific Research Methods and Techniques, Individual Recognition Techniques, Personality Development is structured and it is aimed to move the adequacy of the professions in this area to the level of expertise.
- Guidance and Psychological Counseling Graduate Education Program allows undergraduate students to access versatile and contemporary knowledge on the professional subject, to learn to use the obtained information in the field, to reach the competence to conduct independent research, to follow the developments in the subspecialties of psychological counseling and to interpret them with a broad and deep perspective. It is aimed for them to gain the capacity to make.

Degree and Level Awarded
Students who successfully complete their credit courses and term project and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 and above are awarded a master's degree without thesis.
On the master's diploma without thesis, the name of the program in the department where the student is registered is approved by YÖK.
Admission Requirements
-To be a Guidance and Psychological Counseling graduate, (Scientific preparation program is applied to candidates from different disciplines.)
-ALES score is not required.
-The graduate courses of this program are given at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Halkalı campus in the Fall semester of the 2020-2021 Academic Year.
-Programs are opened in Altunizade for some semesters. Contact the institute for more information.
-Scientific Preparation Program courses are given jointly with undergraduate programs (weekdays and days) at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Halkalı campus.

Employment Opportunities
Our graduates provide psychological counseling services as experts if they are RPD graduates. Our students from outside the field reflect their advanced psychological counseling knowledge to their professions.
Access to Further Studies
Those who continue their non-thesis master's program can apply for a master's program with thesis if they meet the minimum requirements set by the University for the master's program with thesis. The courses taken and successful in the non-thesis master's program can be substituted for the courses in the master's program with thesis upon the decision of the institute board of directors.
