BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (ENGLISH) - NON THESIS

About the Program

The Non-Thesis Master's Program in Business Administration, which combines the theoretical background of business science with private sector experience, offers its participants the necessary opportunities to advance their career path. The program, which consists of 10 classes and graduate projects of 30 hours, enables participants to develop their leadership skills and practice teamwork by guiding them to think critically. The courses in the program include an intensive theoretical background as well as current and advanced management practices.

The Master of Business Administration without Thesis, which includes courses such as Human Resources, Finance, Sales and Marketing, which are the basic courses of business science, as well as current topics such as Organizational Behavior, Digital Marketing, also offers a general introductory course under the title Introduction to Business for students from outside the field. Participants who graduate from the program in question can carry themselves above their positions and open new business doors in the fields of crisis management, supply chain, strategic management and entrepreneurship with their theoretical background, current management practices and advanced leadership and teamwork skills.

It consists of ten courses of thirty hours and graduate project work. (Total 90 ECTS) The normal duration of completing this program is 2 semesters and the maximum duration is 3 semesters.

  1. To educate and develop graduates who are competent with theoretical and practical knowledge to a level that they can perform their professions in the field of management and business administration
  2. To educate and raise graduates who can add more to their knowledge and skills that they acquired in the field of management with a lifelong learning attitude by following the improvements and changes around them
  3. Raise leaders with advanced leadership skills, who can lead the employees in their teams effectively, can be a team player and can manage inter personal relationships and conflicts
  4. Raising individuals who can have a critical approach to contemporary problems, whose analytical skills are developed, and who are solution oriented with the knowledge and the skills that they acquire in the business and management field
  5. To raise individuals who has information and skills that may can contribute scientific development and competent in research, problem solution and analyzing
  6. To develop skills that are directed towards producing scientific studies in the field of business administration, sharing what are produced, fulfilling the societal and professional responsibilities, developing and applying projects.

Teaching Methods

The non-thesis master's program shows how to use the existing knowledge in practice by providing the student with knowledge on professional issues.

At most three of the courses to be taken by the student can be selected from undergraduate courses provided that they have not been taken during undergraduate education.

Assessment Methods

The non-thesis master's program consists of a total of thirty credits and a term project with at least ten courses, not less than 60 ECTS. The student has to register for the term project in the semester it is received and submit a written project and / or report at the end of the semester. Term project is non-credit and evaluated as successful or unsuccessful.

At the end of the non-thesis master's program, a proficiency exam can be held with the recommendation of the head of the department and the decision of the institute board.

Degree and Level Awarded

Students who successfully complete their credit courses and term project and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 and above are awarded a master's degree without thesis.

On the master's diploma without thesis, the name of the program in the department where the student is registered is approved by YÖK (The Council of Higher Education).

Admission Requirements

-To have bachelor's degree,

-ALES score requirement is not required.

-To get a score of at least 70 from YDS or YÖKDİL (English) or an equivalent score from the foreign language (English) exam accepted by ÖSYM or at least 70 points from the English Language Proficiency Exam to be held by IZU.

The courses of this program are given at the Halkalı campus of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University.

Graduation Requirements

Recognition of Prior Learning

A student who has completed at least one semester in a graduate program at the university or another higher education institution can be admitted to the University's graduate programs through undergraduate transfer within the framework of the relevant legislation and the principles determined by the institute board of directors.

 The principles regarding the transfer between thesis and non-thesis graduate programs are determined by the institute board of directors.

Employment Opportunities

Graduates from the Non-Thesis Master's Program in Business Administration have quite a lot of job opportunities both in the public and private sectors. Graduates of the program in question can carry themselves above their positions and open new business doors in the fields of crisis management, supply chain, strategic management and entrepreneurship with their theoretical background, current management practices and advanced leadership and teamwork skills. In addition, graduates have the opportunity to start their academic career by applying for a master's program with thesis.

Access to Further Studies

Those who continue to the non-thesis master's program can apply to the master's program with thesis if they meet the minimum requirements set by the University for the master's program with thesis. The courses taken and successful in the non-thesis master's program can be substituted for the courses in the master's program with thesis upon the decision of the institute board of directors.
