Course Objective

 

To gain information about the historical development and forms of Turkish Religious Music

Course Content

Historical development of Turkish Religious Music, Musical Concepts, Tune, Rhythm, Maqam and Note Knowledge, Knowledge of Religious Music forms, Music types performed in mosques and dervish lodges, Applied Performance.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Can follow the developments in religious music in Islamic history
  2. Have information about the history of Turkish religious music.
  3. Learns Turkish Religious Music repertoire.
  4. Learns the traditional practices and types of Turkish religious music.
  5. He may practice some forms of religious music practically.
