GKS 015 - Turkish Sign Language

Course Objective

The student will learn the Turkish Sign Language. Learns the TİD alphabet, basic sentence structures, yes-no questions, negative sentences, time and time-related questions, numbers, question words and verbs, and makes plenty of sample exercises in the classroom. Student learns sign language at basic level, can speak with hearing impaired.

 

Course Content

Sign Language is the language used by the hearing impaired. Emotion is based on visual and gestural form in order to express thoughts, wishes and needs. Different countries have different sign languages. As each sign language has its own specific grammar rules, the signs used for each concept are common among its users.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Student will be able to express himself /herself through sign language, communicate with the society
  2. Contribute to social communication
  3. Students will learn the basic knowledge of Turkish Sign Language
