Course Objective
To ensure that mathematics uses logical reasoning processes correctly and effectively by providing pre-service teachers with knowledge about inferencing, defending the validity of propositions, making generalizations, structuring strategies using logical patterns.
Course Content
To defend the accuracy and validity of inferences, to make logical generalizations and to make inferences; explain and use mathematical patterns and relationships when analyzing a mathematical situation; making estimates of the outcome of transactions and measurements using strategies such as rounding, grouping appropriate numbers, using first or last steps, or strategies developed by them; estimation of a specific reference point.
