Course Objective

The aim of this lesson is to teach students the methods that are used in language teaching and the theories on which these methods are based.

Course Content

1. A brief history of language teaching, 2. The nature of approaches and methods in language teaching, 3. The oral approach and situational language teaching, 4. The audiolingual method, 5. Total physical response, 6. The silent way, 7 Suggestopedia, 8. Multiple intelligences, 9. Communicative language teaching

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. students will be able to Identify and explain key language teaching approaches and methods, recognizing their historical development and the reasons for their emergence.

  4. Students will be able to learn how to teach techniques from different methods in their future language classes.
