The Psychology Undergraduate Programme is a 240-ECTS programme with a normal duration of 4 academic years consisting of 8 semesters. As in the other undergraduate departments of our University, 1 ECTS in the Psychology undergraduate programme corresponds to a student workload of 30 (hours/semester).

The main aim of our psychology department's educational programme is to give our students knowledge and experience within an interdisciplinary understanding and to produce graduates with a high level of individual and social awareness and responsibility. The discipline of psychology studies human mental processes and behaviour at both the individual and group level. The research areas of psychology form a broad structure, ranging from central nervous system-behaviour relationships to human development, socio-cultural interaction, psychopathology, and the application of knowledge obtained from basic psychological research to various work environments. Our programme envisages that students gain knowledge in these different branches, become familiar with the basic theoretical approaches in psychology, and acquire solid methodological knowledge and a research background. Our department aims for students to gain a basic scientific approach and acquire the knowledge and skills needed for the academic or professional fields they will choose. By taking courses in different sub-fields of psychology during their undergraduate education, students both gain an interdisciplinary perspective and decide on the field in which they may wish to pursue graduate studies in the future.
