Conditions and Explanations of the Programs

See 1. Candidates who are graduates of a high school or an equivalent vocational school offering a program oriented toward a profession must carefully review Table 6 before making their preferences related to this program.

See 14. The language of instruction is Arabic.

See 18. Candidates who are National Athletes are advised to review the announcement concerning the memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and foundation and state universities, which appears on the following pages of this guide, and to obtain information on the subject from the relevant higher education institution. Detailed information regarding the procedures that Higher Education Institutions will carry out within the framework of the memorandum of understanding concluded with the Ministry of Youth and Sports must be obtained from the relevant university.

See 21. For the scholarships to be granted, including the compulsory preparatory class (excluding optional preparatory classes), Scholarship covers the entire tuition fee, 50% Discount covers half of the tuition fee and 25% Discount covers one quarter of the tuition fee, and students will pay the remaining portion of the tuition fee. In scholarship/discounted programs, scholarships/discounts continue for one year in the preparatory class and for the normal duration of study of the program (provided that the student continues their education and attends classes) and are not discontinued until the end of this period. Scholarships/discounts in scholarship/discounted programs are non-repayable, and if a student discontinues their education and leaves the program, no tuition fee may additionally be demanded from the students who leave in proportion to their scholarship/discount rate. The relevant higher education institution may grant the opportunity to study with a scholarship/discount for a period longer than this. Higher education institutions may, in accordance with their own regulations, allow their own students or students of another university who have left, whose enrollment has been terminated or who have terminated their own enrollment, as well as those who have graduated from a higher education program, to register only under fee-paying or other discounted statuses in the event that they are placed in scholarship or discounted programs according to their YKS results; the University reserves the right to register those in this situation only in fee-paying or other discounted programs.

See 22. Students who register for this program and who, despite attending the foreign language preparatory class, fail to complete the preparatory class successfully within two years shall have their enrollment in the program terminated. Students whose enrollment is terminated due to failure in the preparatory class may, if available, register for an equivalent program taught in Turkish at their own higher education institution. However, upon request, such students may be placed centrally by the Presidency of the Measuring, Selection and Placement Center, on a one-off basis and as of the year in which they registered, in one of the programs taught in Turkish, provided that the relevant score among the student's YKS scores is not lower than the base score required for registration in the program to which they will be placed.

See 23. The language of instruction is English.

See 24. A compulsory one-year Preparatory Program is offered in the language of instruction of the program; those who pass the proficiency examination in the relevant language at the end of the program are enrolled directly in the first year. The preparatory class is not included in the years shown in the duration of study column. Students who, for the relevant language, a) document that they have been successful at the level determined by the University in one of the national and/or international foreign language examinations accepted by the University, or b) are successful in the proficiency examination in the relevant language to be held by the University at the beginning of the academic year, are admitted directly to the first year. The provisions of the “Regulation on the Principles to be Observed in Foreign Language Teaching and Teaching in a Foreign Language at Higher Education Institutions" are applied to students.

See 34. The language of instruction in this program is at least 30% English.

See 64. Education at foundation/TRNC higher education institutions is subject to tuition fees. The tuition fees of foundation/TRNC higher education institutions for the 2026-2027 academic year, the flight fee for pilot training programs, and information on the tuition fee increases to be applied in subsequent years are given in table form at the end of this guide. The table shows the “full-fee” tuition of the programs; a reduction will be applied by the relevant higher education institution according to the discount rate of the program. VAT is included in the tuition fees. At foundation/TRNC higher education institutions with a pilot training program, since the compulsory flight courses included in the pilot training program are provided by an authorized flight school, students enrolling in this program pay a flight fee in addition to the annual tuition fee. For scholarship/discount holding students enrolled in the pilot training program, the flight training fee will be covered by the university in proportion to their scholarship/discount rate. The reductions and opportunities granted by the Board of Trustees/Board of Directors of the higher education institution (tuition fee waiver, scholarship, cash support, accommodation, meals, etc.), the terms of payment of tuition fees, options for payment in installments or in advance, other fees, the scholarship periods to be granted separately for scholarship programs, and other matters relating to education and instruction will be announced to students on the website of the relevant higher education institution. Some higher education institutions may, in line with their own regulations, permit candidates who are their own students or students of another university and who have withdrawn, whose enrollment has been terminated or who have terminated their own enrollment, or who have graduated from a higher education program, to enroll only under full-fee or other discounted statuses if they are placed in scholarship or discounted programs according to their YKS results; the University reserves the right to enroll such candidates only in full-fee or other discounted programs. Candidates in this situation must obtain detailed information from the relevant university before making their preferences. Candidates should carefully review the information on the universities' websites before making their choices.

See 143. Candidates whose placement score is below the placement score of the candidate ranked 250,000th in the success ranking for the placement score type of the program will not be placed in architecture programs. Candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be able to select the relevant program. Even if they have submitted a preference, the relevant preferences of candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be included in the placement process (including the general quota and other quota types).

See 144. For engineering programs (excluding the programs of the Faculties of Forestry, Agriculture, Agricultural Sciences and Technologies and Fisheries/Aquatic Sciences, as well as the Wood Products Industrial Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, Fisheries Technology Engineering and Aquaculture Engineering programs; including the Food Engineering programs of the Faculties of Agriculture), candidates whose placement score is below the placement score of the candidate ranked 300,000th in the success ranking for the placement score type of the program will not be placed (the success ranking of the placement score without additional points is taken into account). Candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be able to select the relevant program. Even if they have submitted a preference, the relevant preferences of candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be included in the placement process (including the general quota and other quota types).

For teacher training programs (including the Guidance and Psychological Counseling program), candidates whose placement score is below the placement score of the candidate ranked 300,000th in the success ranking for the placement score type of the program will not be placed (the success ranking of the placement score without additional points is taken into account). Candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be able to select the relevant program. Even if they have submitted a preference, the relevant preferences of candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be included in the placement process (including the general quota and other quota types).

For law programs, candidates whose placement score is below the placement score of the candidate ranked 100,000th in the success ranking for the placement score type of the program will not be placed. Candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be able to select the relevant program. Even if they have submitted a preference, the relevant preferences of candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be included in the placement process (including the general quota and other quota types).
