Erasmus+ Study Mobility enables students enrolled at our university to complete part of their studies at a higher education institution in an Erasmus+ Programme Country with which we have an inter-institutional agreement.
United Kingdom, Denmark, the Netherlands, Ireland, Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Italy, Iceland, Greek Cypriot Administration, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Hungary, Norway, Poland, Romania, Türkiye*, Greece, Germany, Spain, Latvia, North Macedonia, Malta, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Estonia, Croatia, Lithuania, Slovenia.
The grant amounts provided for each destination country are set out in the calls for applications published by the Erasmus+ Institutional Coordination Office.
Türkiye is a country included in the Erasmus+ Programme. However, participants selected from our university cannot carry out study mobility within Türkiye.
The institution at which the study mobility will take place must meet the following conditions:
- It must be a Higher Education Institution holding an ECHE, and
- An inter-institutional agreement must have been concluded between the higher education institution and our university in the field of study concerned;
For our university's Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreements, please click here.
You may take part in Erasmus Study Mobility at universities with which the programme you are enrolled in has an agreement. You cannot take part in study mobility under another department's agreement.
The European Commission has set the activity duration for student study mobility as a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 12 months.
However, in order to allow more participants at our university to benefit from Erasmus+ study mobility, the grant-funded activity period has been limited to 1 academic semester.
In student study mobility, if the certificate of attendance shows that the beneficiary carried out the activity for less than 3 months, the activity is deemed invalid.
A student whose certificate of attendance shows that the activity lasted less than 3 months must repay the entire grant received.
Undergraduate students must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.20/4.00. For undergraduate students, the grade point average must be at least 72 out of 100.
Graduate students (master's and doctoral) must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.50/4.00. For graduate students, the grade point average must be at least 75 out of 100.
A full-time student is a student who has not yet completed the work required by their programme and who has a course load of at least 30 ECTS.
Applications from students who are at the graduation stage or who have a course load of less than the 30 ECTS they must take in 1 academic semester are considered ineligible applications.
Yes, you may apply. At the time of application you must bring to the Erasmus Institutional Coordination Office the transcript showing your graduation grade from your previous study cycle (your bachelor's transcript if you are a master's student, or your master's transcript if you are a doctoral student).
In addition, you must submit to the Erasmus Institutional Coordination Office a letter obtained from the Institute Secretariat stating that a grade point average has not yet been established.
Our university has set the minimum foreign language threshold for taking part in study mobility at B2 level.
- 1-İZÜ Preparatory Programme Completion Score
- 2-Erasmus+ Language Proficiency Exam (accepted validity period: 2 years)
- 3-Foreign Language Exam - YDS (accepted validity period: 5 years)
- 4-Foreign Language Exam for Higher Education Institutions - YÖKDİL (accepted validity period: 5 years)
- 5-IELTS (accepted validity period: 2 years)
- 6-TOEFL (accepted validity period: 2 years)
Click here for the table converting YDS, YÖKDİL, TOEFL-IBT-CBT-PBT and IELTS scores into İZÜ Erasmus+ Language Proficiency Exam scores.
There is no speaking test in the Erasmus+ Language Proficiency Exam. The Erasmus+ Language Proficiency Exam consists of Grammar, Listening, Reading and Writing sections.
As a rule, first-year students may not take part in Erasmus+ Student Study Mobility.
However, first-year students may apply in order to take part during their second year.
Double major students may apply from both programmes in which they are enrolled. However, the application must be submitted through the single programme under which the student wishes to take part in the mobility.
Students enrolled in a minor programme may only apply through the major programme in which they are enrolled full-time.
Graduate students in the thesis stage whose thesis work is worth 30 ECTS may take part in study mobility for the purpose of carrying out thesis work.
The courses that students selected for study mobility will take at the host institution and the courses that will be recognised in their place at our university are determined before the mobility. It is anticipated that the student will take a course load of 30 ECTS at the host institution and have 30 ECTS worth of courses recognised at our university.
The Learning Agreement, documents relating to academic recognition and Faculty Executive Board decisions are used in the recognition of courses.
If the student passes the 30 ECTS worth of courses taken at the host institution, the courses taken at the host institution are recorded on the student's transcript and diploma supplement with their original titles, ECTS values and İZÜ letter grade equivalents. This process is known as full recognition.
In this case, the student is exempted from the 30 ECTS of courses they would normally have to take at our university.
The student may retake the equivalents of the courses they failed at the host institution at our university in the following term or year.
The entire process is safeguarded by the İZÜ Erasmus Programme Implementation Directive.
No grant deduction is made if the student fails courses taken at the host institution.
However, if a valid transcript is not obtained from the host institution, the student must repay the entire grant received.
A student who meets the minimum grade point average and language proficiency requirements may take part in study mobility if selected, even if they have outstanding courses from previous terms.
Students who wish to take part in study mobility without a grant must meet the "Minimum Requirements".
Candidates placed on the reserve list following the general evaluation may apply to the Erasmus Institutional Coordination Office to request participation without a grant.
In accordance with the principles of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education, students participating in study mobility do not pay tuition fees, examination fees, registration fees or similar charges to the host university.
If your department does not have an Erasmus+ agreement, please contact your Erasmus departmental/faculty coordinator before the application dates.
