Course Objective
It is aimed at conveying the information that contributes to the development and strengthening of the local democracy in our country at the participatory level by ensuring the democratic formation on the axis of today's ideals and also assimilating the relationship between democracy and local governments.
Course Content
Within the scope of this course, the study of different models of democracy in the context of political participation and the explanations of participatory democracy from here on; the establishment of the relationship between local governments and (democratic) participatory democracy and the examination of the role and importance of local governments in the development of participatory political culture; the examination of the implementation of democracies representing local politics, in particular in the process of the formation of local decision-making bodies, and of the forms of implementation that contribute to the strengthening of political participation in the local democracy.
