Course Objective

At the end of the course, students are expected to learn the subject and purpose of medical social work, to learn the knowledge and skills of establishing a helping relationship in the field of medical social work and maintaining it with a supportive approach, to acquire the knowledge of using the planned change process with people with different diseases, to know social work practices in primary, secondary and tertiary health services.

Course Content

In this course, firstly, the basic perspective of social sciences on health and disease, the place of the patient, health worker and treatment institutions in the changing health system will be clarified, then the function and responsibilities of the social worker in the health system, legal regulations related to medical social work, medical social work practices in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of diseases will be discussed.
