Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine the basic topics covering the interaction between nutrients and drugs at an advanced level and to increase application skills by evaluating how nutrition programs should be implemented in people receiving drug treatment.

Course Content

The content of this course consists of interactions between various drug groups and nutrients; the effect of drug use on nutrition; the interaction of drugs with carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, vitamins and minerals.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Distinguishes the nutrients that affect the absorption and bioavailability of some drugs
  2. Knows the effect of nutrients on the change of efficiency of some drug groups
  3. Uses the information about the side effects of drugs on dietary applications.
  4. Uses the acquired knowledge and skills about the interaction of drugs with macro and micronutrients for diet preparations
  5. Adapts the nutrient-drug interaction to our daily life for a healthy life.
  6. Conducts detailed research on the mechanisms of nutrient-drug interaction and shares the findings verbally and in writing
