Course Objective
The aim of this course is to determine the appropriate teaching methods and techniques to be used in mathematics lessons, based on learning-teaching theories and approaches. In addition, applications will be made for certain teaching methods.
Course Content
Nature of mathematics and mathematical thinking; the meaning of learning and teaching mathematics; the aim and basic principles of mathematics teaching; history of mathematics teaching; reflection of learning and teaching approaches on mathematics teaching; basic skills in teaching mathematics; in-class application examples; current trends and problems in mathematics teaching; components of an effective mathematics teaching; Social, cultural and economic perspective on teaching mathematics.
