Course Objective
Giving information about the palace, center, state, army and scientific organization in the Ottomans. Explaining the Ottoman legal system. Examining the social, cultural and scientific developments.
Course Content
In the History of Ottoman Civilization course, the emergence, development and functioning of Ottoman institutions and the causes and consequences of the deterioration in institutions will be focused on. During the process, the efforts of transition from classical period institutions to new ones from the early 17th century and their effects will be emphasized. The most important goal of the course is to provide students with realistic information about Ottoman Civilization based on cause-effect relationships.Required Resources
