Course Objective
The aim of this course is to teach students to gain the basic terms related administration and supervision theories.
Course Content
Educational System, Goals and Basic Principles of Turkish Education System Organization and Management Structure of Turkish Educational System: Central Organization, Local Organizations, Abroad Organizations, Characteristics of Educational Administration, Educational Administration, Educational Management, School Management Concepts, Principal Organization and Management Theories and Reflections on Educational Administration Principles and Management Processes, Introduction and scope of supervision, Principles of supervision, Supervision practices in Turkish Education System, School supervision; Clinical supervision and Phases, Developmental supervision, Problems encountered in supervision and suggestions for solutions.
Course Learning Outcomes
- To be able to deepen the general knowledge on educational science in the framework of basic theories and practices related to the field of Educational Management and Supervision and to evaluate the relation between theories and practices related to education management and supervision
- To be able to identify the problems related to the management and control of the education system, using the information it has about the field of Educational Management and Supervision, and to develop new perspectives with the information obtained from related disciplines.
- Compare the Basic Assumptions of Classical, Neoclassical, Modern Postmodern Management Theory
- Discuss the necessity of teacher and school supervisor
- Develop a model for teacher and school supervision
