Course Objective

The aim of the course is to make students learn about the development process of psychological tests, their theoretical background, purpose of use and limitations, and to gain knowledge and skills in terms of application and evaluation through sample test applications. At the end of the course, it is aimed that the students gain the ability to apply and evaluate the tests determined by the lecturer.

Course Content

Within the scope of the course, the historical development of psychological tests, their applications and purposes of use, as well as the concepts of psychometry such as validity, reliability, sampling, piloting, statistical techniques, theoretical and practical concepts necessary for test development and adaptation studies will be covered in practice.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. The student learns about the historical development of psychological tests, the application and interpretation of sample tests.
  2. The student can interpret the results of various psychological tests and the data collected from the tests.
  3. Student can evaluate the validity and reliability of psychological tests.
  4. The student can adapt and translate the scale on a subject he/she has determined.
  5. The student will have the competency of giving a test to the literature.
