Course Objective
This course will explore the financial decisions faced by financial managers in their interactions with external investors and within their firms. At the same time, we accept that their main aim is maximizing the firm value. Financial managers have numerous investment opportunities. They must decide which assets to purchase and projects to undertake. At the same time, they must decide how to fund such investments, whether to raise cash from creditors or shareholders and what the best mix of debt and equity financing is. This course aims to provide students with the necessary skills to make such investment and financing decisions.
Course Content
Capital budgeting, stock, bond and firm valuation, capital structure, dividend policy and long-term financing are the topics covered in this course.
