Course Objective

-To teach the main concepts of sociology, the leading sociologists and the some introductory subject matter of sociology to students

 -To teach the asking and answering sociological question to students

-To encourage students to think beyond personal lives and connect their experiences with large social structures.

-To encourage student to see how everyday issues are shaped by social and historical context.

Course Content

This course is designed to introduce students to the field of sociology. In the first classes, students will learn how and why sociology emerged, what sociology covers and how sociologists see the world. In the following classes, students will learn about main sociological concepts, perspectives, theories and some sociological issues relating to the study of society.
