Course Objective

Industrial Psychology course aims to teach the students theoretical knowledge such as introduction of important psychological theories on human behavior in business environment, individual and group analysis in business environment, factors affecting performance in business life, learning, motivation, leadership, corporate and individual communication and group behavior types in business life through real cases .

Introduction to Industrial and Organizational Psychology - R. Riggio - Nobel Press - İstanbul.

Explanations

Midterm 40 %, Final  60 %.

Exams are multiple choice, short answered open end questions, fill in the blank formed.

Topics till exam date are included in exams declared in syllabus .

Course presantations, textbook, uploaded materials to system are included exams.

Rules

Attandance to lessons is essential.

Min. attandance is 70 % required.

It is recommended to participate class activities.

Lectrures continoues also via uploaded materrials to system - if exists.

Reading couse texbook, following lesson slides are under students' responsibility.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. The students will increase the motivation and loyalty of employees policies.
  2. The students can describe industrial / organizational psychology.
  3. The students learn about business analysis, performance evaluation, selection and evaluation, leadership andemployee motivation.
  4. Being familiar with the contemporary Organizational Behavior related problems in business world and providing solutions for them.
  5. Comprehending the basis, personal and organizational antecedents and consequences with their relationships.
  6. Acquiring knowledge and efficacy on leadership, motivation, communication and interpersonal dynamics that enables to understand and affect the behaviors and attitudes.
  7. Defining and understanding the fundamental concepts of Organizational Behavior and Industrial Psychology
