Course Objective
The aim of this course is to examine the field of clinical psychology within the context of its historical development and to introduce how various schools of thought conceptualize personality, psychopathology, and treatment. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to understanding the processes of clinical assessment, diagnosis, and clinical intervention.
Course Content
This course aims to provide students with both theoretical and practical perspectives by addressing the fundamental components and contemporary approaches of clinical psychology. Topics covered in the course will include psychotherapy processes, clinical interviewing techniques, assessment and evaluation methods, various schools of psychotherapy, and alternative approaches to clinical intervention. In addition, current discussions concerning ethical principles, sensitive issues in clinical psychology, and areas such as health psychology will also be addressed.

Explanations
Meaningful contribution (thoughtful, relevant, critical comments) to class discussions is expected. While being an active participant in class is at the students' discretion, active participation in class is recommended for reinforcing the topics covered.
Students are required to be present in the classroom during class hours. Students who are not present in the classroom when attendance is taken will be marked as 'ABSENT' for that hour on the attendance form. Students arriving late at class after attendance has been taken will not be able to sign for the time they missed.
According to school policy, students must attend a minimum of 70% of the classes. Students have a 30% allowance for absences due to illness and compelling personal circumstances. Students with attendance below 70% will not be allowed to take the final and makeup exams.
