Course Objective

Social History has been developing as a sub-discipline of historical research since the early twentienth century and it has an important place in historiography. Therefore, the aim of this course is to introduce the basic concepts of social history to  the students. 

Course Content

In this course, the emergence and development of social history will be discussed with reference to the works of  leading names and schools of social history.

Rules

Attendance at class is indispensible for the completion of the course.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Will learn the basic concepts and new approaches of social historiography.
  2. Will be able to comprehend the basic dynamics of social change-transformation processes.
  3. Will be able to evaluate how to use historical sources in social history studies.
