Course Objective
The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the psychological, cognitive, and emotional processes that influence eating behaviors and to support the development of strategies to improve individuals’ dietary habits. By learning the fundamental theories in the field of nutrition psychology, students will acquire the knowledge and skills to plan interventions that promote healthy eating behaviors.
Course Content
Within the course, the psychological foundations of eating behaviors, motivation, perception, attitudes and emotion regulation, eating disorders, stress and emotional eating, food preferences and cultural influences, behavior change techniques, and psychological approaches in nutrition counseling will be addressed. Additionally, psychological factors affecting the dietary habits of individuals and populations will be discussed through current research and case studies.
