Course Objective
This course, by learning human behaviors, behavioral disorders, the basic principles, concepts, functions and processes of psychiatric nursing, and ways to improve human relations, will enable the knowledge, skills and attitudes gained in this field to be effective in protecting, developing and maintaining mental health, in care and rehabilitation in case of mental health deterioration. intended to be used in some way.
Course Content
To learn the basic concepts of Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing, to gain theoretical and practical skills related to the treatment and care of patients with psychiatric problems in the course and practice areas.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Explains the definition, history, theory and concepts of mental health and diseases nursing, and psychiatric diagnosis.
- It uses therapeutic communication skills with an unbiased approach to individuals and families with mental health problems, and defines the characteristics of the therapeutic environment (therapeutic environment) in the psychiatry clinic.
- Comprehends the knowledge of Mood, Schizophrenia and other delusional, Personality, Child mental health, Anxiety, Somatoform, Alcohol and substance addiction, Delirium, Dementia and Other Amnestic, Eating and Sexual Disorders.
- Defines community mental health services and nursing, Consultation-Liaison psychiatric nursing, Forensic psychiatric nursing.
- Explain the roles of mental health and psychiatric nursing and the nursing process in psychiatry.
- Applies nursing skills in Mood, Schizophrenia and other delusional, Personality, Child mental health, Anxiety, Somatoform, Alcohol and substance abuse, Delirium, Dementia and Other Amnestic, Eating and Sexual Disorders.
- Recognizes the characteristics of community mental health services and nursing, consultation-liaison psychiatric nursing, forensic psychiatric nursing.
- Implements nursing interventions with the team for mental health problems of family and society.
- Defines treatments in psychiatry and the roles of psychiatric nursing in treatment.
- Explains the legal status of psychiatric patients.
