Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences · Molecular Biology and Genetics (English 30%) · Undergraduate
Course Objective
To explain the students the fundamental biology concepts.
To provide the basis for the original courses that will be given in the coming years
To help students apply the theoretical knowledge they learned in courses in a laboratory environment.
Course Content
This course includes all the basic biological concepts, living organism and basic cell, cell biology, cell structure and function, energy metabolism, animal and plant organ systems, DNA structure, chromosomes and cell nucleus. Laboratory safety, microscopical and microbiological techniques and observing microorganisms are the subjects that will be covered in practical laboratory course.
Required Resources
Campell Biology, Lisa A. Urry, Jane B. Reece, Peter V. Minorsky, Michael L. Cain, Steven A. Wasserman.
Rules
All students are required to attend 70% of the theoretical course and 80% of the laboratory.
