Course Objective
Logistics Management is part of supply chain management that plans, implements and controls the efficient, effective forward and reverse flow and storage of goods, services and related information between origin and consumption point to meet customer needs. This course covers all the important processes of the logistics management.
Course Content
This course provides a practical and managerial perspective on the following logistics areas such as distribution, transportation, international logistics, stock control, sustainable logistics applications, key performance indicators, supply chain finance, leadership in a supply chain role and entry to logistics technology.
Course Learning Outcomes
- To learn logistics principles and to introduce logistics terms to students
- To provide an overview of the key activities carried out by the logistics function, including distribution, transport, global logistics and inventory control
- To show that Logistics is not a passive plan but a strategic function that creates value and competitive advantage
- Expanding the skills of data analysis applied by analyzing and using supply chain data to make business decisions
- Understand the challenges facing supply chain professionals and provide a foundation for overcoming with these challenges
- Prepare students for career opportunities
