Course Objective
This course is designed and structured as an introduction to business and management science in contemporary world. It provides fundamental skills and knowledge on understanding main functions, concepts and nature of today’s business environment and management thought. Main aim of the course is to serve as a framework for creating a holistic big picture perception on business and provide the necessary introduction, interest, motivation and curiosity to further related courses in the program as it has a comprehensive structure which includes brief information on all functions of management (e.g. business strategy, human resource management, production, marketing, finance, MIS).
Course Content
The content of the course include:
• The enterprise system and other types of economic systems.
• Business ethics apply to customers and other stakeholders in the business environment.
• The basic forms of business ownership.
• International business and the complexities of operating in a global environment.
• The basic functions of management and the skills required of managers working with different
concepts of motivation.
• How a company utilizes human resource management to recruit, train, and retain
employees.
