Course Objective
The aim of this lesson is to determine media literacy concept, media literacy in world and Turkey and necessity of media literacy.
Course Content
Definition of media literacy; its framework; printed, visual, audial and digital media elements; the scope of the messages from mass media, the evaluation of the content of these messages and in the light of this information, thougths on how students can be given media literacy training.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Students be able to evalute printed media messages with critical perspective
- Students be able to evalute visual media messages with critical perspective
- Students be able to evalute audial media messages with critical perspective
- Students be able to evalute digital media messages with critical perspective
- Sutudents be able to detect propaganda elements in messages they received.
