Course Objective

This course aims to enable pre-service teachers to associate mathematical concepts, different representations of concepts, mathematical concepts with daily life and with different disciplines.

Course Content

Establishing relationships between concepts and processes; expressing mathematical concepts and rules with different representations; associating different mathematical concepts with each other; associating mathematics with other subjects; associating mathematics with everyday life.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Construct mathematical concepts with each other and sub-concepts
  2. Transforms between different representations of concepts (verbal, symbolic, visual).
  3. Interpret mathematical concepts by associating them with daily life situations.
  4. Defines algebraic thinking
  5. explains the geometric habits of mind
  6. Appreciate the importance of mathematical thinking in daily life and other disciplines.
