Course Objective
To be able to use the basic concepts related to science and science education correctly, to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of elementary science curriculum and to develop activities to develop basic and experimental process skills intended.
Course Content
Basic concepts regarding science and science education; science, technology, characteristics of scientific knowledge and scientific method, science and technology literacy, science-technology-society-environment relations, attitudes towards science, aims of science teaching, historical development of science teaching in Turkey and the World, constructivist approach and science learning, cognitive development and science education, characteristics of the primary school science program and its relationship with other courses, development of scientific process skills and sample applications.

Course Learning Outcomes
- Design science experiments with simple materials
- Identify misconceptions in science courses
- Plans a science lesson using different teaching methods in science teaching (research-inquiry-based science teaching, 5E learning rings).
- Explain the aims of science teaching.
