Course Objective
The aim of this course is to understand the relationship between culture and education, to comprehend the role and importance of the family in child development within Turkish culture, and to know the characteristics of child-rearing in the history of social culture.
Course Content
The definition of culture; the relationship between education and culture; the place of culture in child development and education; the development and characteristics of Turkish culture; the child in Turkish culture; the place and value of children in Turkish society and family; child education in Turkish culture from past to present, its characteristics and elements will be covered.

Explanations
Regular attendance is essential.
Each student is responsible for monitoring their own attendance and signing in to keep track.
In addition to the exam (midterm + final), a presentation grade determined within the scope of the course and to be completed by each student will also be included in the course evaluation.
A presentation score will be obtained for each student based on the following tasks for a section specified from Bekir Onur's book Changing Times, Changing Childhood:
- What is the topic you read about? (25%),
- What is the importance of this topic in terms of the teaching profession or fields such as education and culture? (25%)
- How did it contribute to you or provide you with a new perspective? (25%)
- What aspects did you criticize and/or support? (25%)
By answering these questions, you are expected to prepare a 10-15 minute presentation.
