Course Objective

The aim of this course is to enable prospective preschool teachers to observe the educational processes carried out in preschool institutions and to gain experience in applying their knowledge and skills related to the teaching profession in real classroom settings. Within the scope of the course, prospective teachers are expected to prepare daily lesson plans taking into account the developmental characteristics and individual differences of children, to implement these plans, and to evaluate their implementation. Furthermore, the course aims to provide prospective teachers with experience in areas such as organizing the educational environment, developing and using educational materials, observing and evaluating children's developmental and learning processes, and examining family education and family participation initiatives.

Course Content

Familiarization with preschool education institutions and learning environments; observation of teachers' duties and responsibilities; preparation, implementation, and evaluation of daily lesson plans; development of educational materials; observation of children's development and learning processes; examination of family education and family participation programs; familiarization with professional processes related to school operations; and conducting self-assessment and reflection activities regarding teaching practices.

Explanations

The course is conducted in conjunction with practical exercises conducted in preschools and theoretical courses offered by the faculty.
Student success will be determined 50% by the midterm exam file and 50% by the final exam file.

Rules

Class attendance is mandatory.
All reports, activity plans, and files must be submitted by the specified dates.

Academic integrity and professional ethics are expected in all course work.

In the practice school, teacher, child, and parent confidentiality must be maintained; children must be concealed during photo/video recordings, and images must be used only in practice files.

  1. It explains the functioning of a preschool education institution and the duties and responsibilities of the teacher.
  2. They observe children's developmental characteristics and individual differences in the educational environment.
  3. They prepare daily lesson plans that are suitable for the preschool education program and the developmental characteristics of children.
  4. Implements the daily lesson plans he has prepared in the preschool education environment.
  5. Develops materials that are suitable for the educational plan.
  6. It evaluates children's development and learning processes using appropriate observation and assessment methods.
  7. They observe family education and family participation initiatives.
  8. They evaluate their teaching practices through self-assessment and reflection.
