Course Objective
The aim of this course is to enable prospective teachers to understand the importance of family education and family participation in early childhood education; and to gain the knowledge and skills to plan and implement practices that support the active participation of families in the educational process. Furthermore, it aims to develop prospective teachers' competencies in planning and implementing family education programs tailored to the needs of families, and in establishing effective and ethical communication with families.
Course Content
The concept of family, family structure and functions; family-child-school relationship; importance, aims and approaches of family participation in early childhood education; family participation practices; basic concepts and principles of family education; family education programs and examples implemented in Turkey and around the world; planning of family education activities; methods and techniques used in family education; effective communication with families, professional boundaries in teacher-family relations, principles and ethics to be observed in communication; planning and implementation of family education sessions.

- Recognize family education models and programs.
- Explain the types and purposes of family participation.
- Evaluates effective communication and collaboration methods with families.
- Analyzes the factors and obstacles affecting family participation and develops solution suggestions.
- Designs family education programs and family participation activities.
